Water leaks can cause all kinds of damage to a property if not detected early on. At Harmuns, our water leak detection service is designed to find and fix hidden leaks, whilst causing minimal disruption. As leak detection specialists, we use the best water leak detection equipment available on the market today, alongside advanced, non-invasive techniques to accurately and efficiently find the source of the leak and fix the issue.
At Harmuns, we have many years of experience in finding and fixing water leaks that your plumber can’t. We were set up with the aim of providing true leak detection expertise and exceptional customer service levels. We have grown rapidly since then and are appointed on some of the most prestigious buildings in the country to find leaks.
Our water leak detection process involves the use of advanced technologies and non-invasive techniques to pinpoint the source of leaks without causing disruption to the property.
At Harmuns, we use a range of equipment to find and fix your leak. Every job is different, and our engineers use their years of experience to address the issue in the most efficient way.
If a leak is not easily detected without the use of specialist equipment, a useful technique of locating water leaks in customer supply pipes, underfloor heating systems, boilers and mains distributions networks is with tracer gas technology.
A tracer gas, a combination of hydrogen and nitrogen, is introduced into the pipe with the suspected leak. Hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the atmosphere, meaning that it will exit the pipe at the leak point and will be picked up by a highly sensitive gas detector.
We use acoustic sensors to detect sound waves that occur from water escaping pipes, enabling quick identification.
Moisture meters are sensors that measure the moisture content of a material. By placing them at various points on a pipe or in different areas of the building, they will be able to detect where the leak is coming from and assess their severity.
Thermal imaging cameras use infrared technology to detect subtle temperature differences and patterns that can make it easier to detect the existence of water. By capturing thermal data and translating it into visual images, these cameras offer a non-invasive means of pinpointing potential water leaks concealed behind walls, ceilings, or floors.
When water leaks into a space and then evaporates it will leave behind chloride, salts and nitrates. Salts analysis kit enables engineers to take samples and test for the presence of these salts on walls, flooring and ceilings.
Pipe locators can find pipes and cables down to a depth of 10 metres. They are extremely sensitive and highly accurate, and they are particularly useful for finding the mains water that comes into the property from the street.
At Harmuns, our engineers are equipped with years of experience that allows us to detect leaks as efficiently as possible and exceed the customer service requirements of our customers. We are proud to be listed on checkatrade and that our engineers are gas safe.
