“Harmuns came about out of necessity. I ran a property portfolio in London, the South East and in Cardiff and I needed the services of a leak detection company but we couldn’t find one with the expertise or the customer service levels who made us feel as though they cared. They took credit card details up front and in return we got very little, other than being poorer for the experience. Coincidentally, over the years I had built up a great relationship with a number of time-served heating engineers, including some who had worked for other leak detection companies, and so after a lot of research and analysis we decided to set-up Harmuns that puts customers at the heart of what we do.”
Our aim is to offer unrivalled customer service. Every call is different and our first question is “how can we help?”. A big part of our job is to give the right advice so that people feel informed to make the right decision for them.
Yes, we are a new company and we like being called young because really, we are unfeasibly old… or experienced as we like to call ourselves. We have fantastic engineers, with a great ‘can do’ attitude using the best equipment. We work harder. We work longer. We work smarter.
Harmuns was set up by David Harrington in February 2022 and later joined by Peter Munn as Technical Director overseeing Engineer training.
David worked in Banking & Insurance premium financing for 10 years, looking after insurance brokers & Lloyds syndicates. He then moved to a global loss adjuster and UK leading claims management firm, working directly with Insurance companies, eventually becoming UK sales director.
An opportunity to re-join the family export trading business and work extensively in the Middle East and grow a UK property portfolio meant that life was busy, but not busy enough… David started Harmuns in February 2022 which since then has gone from strength to strength.
Peter has incredibly strong technical knowledge and is highly experienced. A time served heating engineer for over 20 years he has been there, seen it and done it.
He worked in leak detection for many years, taking a career break to build his own home before joining Harmuns as Technical Director in June 2023. Peter overseas hiring and training engineers to make sure they do things the ‘Harmuns’ way.
